VSSR is an institute that reaches out to people with intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, autism and multiple disabilities.

We have a diverse series of services to enable holistic development of special children. We adopt special plans for children that called Individual Education Programs (IEPs) and Group Education Programs (GEPs).

Centre for Special Education

VSSR is a dedicated for special education. We are providing good quality education for persons with disability.

Students are given an opportunity to feel their potential and encourage their learning with our staff.

Physiotherapy Centre

The physiotherapy unit is providing therapy to children and reaches out to a large number of people in the community by our physiotherapists.

The role of a therapist includes physical assessment, classroom posture, various workshops etc.

Speech Therapy Centre

• Speech and Language Assessment
• Pre-Speech Activities
• Speech Correction and therapy
• Language Development
• Improving the patterns- drinking, eating, posture etc.

Occupational Therapy Centre

This Centre provides its services like individual assessment, treatment, focus on skills, evaluating etc.

Inclusion in Community and Inclusive Education

VSSR is providing inclusive education to children and we are trying to increase and encourage with inclusion in community. Because persons with disability are a part of the community. But due to various reasons, they don’t have place in the community. For this we are taking efforts.

Vocational Training Centre and Employment

The pre vocational unit where students learn functional language and mathematical skills.

The vocational unit provides  regular training to full time trainees above the age of 18 years in the following trades-

• Handmade paper products
• Handicraft and Decorative items
• Stitching
• Garden and Gardening

Sports, Recreation etc.

 VSSR is dedicated for overall development of children and we conduct activities and group for sports, leisure and recreation.

We provide a regular time to children for games, sports, dance, painting, art & craft, theater etc.

Students are also taken for outside trips and picnics.

Community Outreach Program

VSSR team of special educators, therapists and volunteer are working on community based program. These services helped to reach more families affected by disability.

Our team provides services to persons with disability and their families to bring about awareness on disabilities, care taking, legal documentation etc.

We are trying to enroll such children in our Centre to provide education and vocational.

Home Based Program and Counseling

VSSR provides the quality of lives of persons with disability with basic training for home management and counseling. We also provide orientation program for those persons with disability who cannot attend the VSSR. 

The aim of this program:-

• Who are unable to reach the school?
• Who are very severely challenged?
• Who are enrolled in mainstream school and need support for special needs?

The counseling services are offering to parents and families for supporting so that they can care their children with special needs.

Awareness and Advocacy

VSSR works creating awareness and changing public myths and perception. We organize awareness program related rights of person with disability, acts of disability, community awareness etc.
